1959 Wimbledon and Australian Open champion Alex Olmedo, who was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, passed away. He was 84 years old. Olmedo’s son Alejandro Jr. said he died on Wednesday due to brain cancer.
Olmedo was born in Peru in 1936, but later he settled in the United States, he played davis cup for the US in 1958 and won the title, he also won the US national championship with Ham Richardson, now called the US Open.
