SRH vs RCB Eliminator: Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 6 wickets thanks to the innings of Jason Holder and Kane Williamson. Now in Qualifier 2, the Sunrisers (SRH) team will compete with the Delhi Capitals (DC) team. The Sunrisers will face the Delhi Capitals in the second qualifier on Sunday, losing to Mumbai Indians by 57 runs in the first qualifier.
Holder took three important wickets for 25 runs while T Natarajan took two wickets for 33 runs including the wickets of AB de Villiers (56 from 43 balls, five fours) which he bowled on the yorker. Apart from de Villiers from RCB, Aaron Finch (32 runs from 30 balls, three fours, one six) could contribute something and his team could reach 131 runs for seven wickets.
RCB bowlers, especially spinners, made the score for the Sunrisers like a mountain but Williamson’s positive batting made a difference. He held one end and scored an unbeaten 50 off 44 balls which included two fours and two sixes.

He shared an unbroken 65-run partnership with Holder (24 not out off 20 balls) to help the Sunrisers reach the target by losing four wickets in 19.4 overs after a brilliant start from Mohammad Siraj (2 for 28), RCB spinners Adam Jampa ( One for 12) and Yuzvendra Chahal (one for 24) took two wickets for only 36 runs in eight overs.
After the defeat to Hyderabad, Virat Kohli tweeted and thanked the fans of RCB, he wrote in his tweet, ‘It has been a great journey for us, yes things did not go our way but on the whole team player Proud. Thank you to all our fans for your support, your love makes us strong. see you all soon..’.
Earlier, the Sunrisers bowlers vindicated Warner’s decision to field first by winning the toss with a tight screw. Apart from Holder and Natarajan, both his spinners Rashid Khan (four overs 22 runs) and Shahbaz Nadeem (one wicket for 30 runs) and fast bowler Sandeep Sharma (four overs 21 runs) also bowled tightly. Holder sent off captain Virat Kohli (six) and in-form Devadatta Padikkal (one) in the first two overs as opener. There was some grass in the pitch and the holder took full advantage of the bounce he was getting from it.
Even after this the bowlers did not let the batsmen play freely. Finch and de Villiers were at the crease but in the tenth over the only six of the innings, Finch hit Rashid Khan. With this Finch also completed his 2000 runs in IPL. Despite this, the score was 54 for two after ten overs and the pressure on the batsmen was clearly visible.
The effect was that Finch, in an effort to increase the run pace, gave a waving catch in the next over of Nadeem while Rashid’s efficient fielding forced new batsman Moeen Ali to return immediately.
De Villiers hit the first boundary, facing the 20th ball. He completed his half-century with the help of fifth fours off 39 balls, but from the other end, Shivam Dubey (eight off 13 balls) was held by Holder as the third victim while Natarajan dismissed Washington Sundar (five) first and then De Villiers’ beautiful yorker He did wonders with precious wickets.
