Friends, a dark chapter of India's institutional democracy has taken place just 50 years ago.
It took place on this very day, in the middle of the night, on 25th June, 1975, in the darkness of the night, under the leadership of Mr. Indira Gandhi, the Congress government tried to destroy India's democracy. The leaders of all the opposition parties of that time, Mr. Shetal Bihari Bachbhai, Mr. Morarji Desai, Mr. Jayaprakash Narayan, Mr. Lal Krishna Dwani, and all the other leaders of the opposition parties, had tried to completely destroy the democracy.
Today, after 50 years, if we remember those memories of the emergency, then naturally, the faces of the Congress would have changed, but its character, its habits, are still the same. In 1975, a face was seen of the Congress party.
How it tried to destroy the original spirit of the Constitution, by reforming it in the preamble. How it tried to destroy the spirit of the Constitution, by reforming it in the preamble. How at that time, Congress had completely reformed the fundamental rights of the citizens of the country. How the rights of the judges, the Congress party, at that time, had made a bond. And even today, in the Congress party, even though the eyes have changed, but its face has changed, but its character is still the same.
