Shivam Dube was born on 26 June 1993 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His primary education was at the Hansraj Morarji Public School, in Mumbai. After that, he completed his graduation from Rizvi College, Mumbai, and took cricket coaching from Chandrakant Pandit Cricket Academy, Andheri West, Mumbai.

Shivam Dube’s father’s name is Rajesh Dube and his mother’s name is Madhuri Dube  His father used to trade in dairy products and after that, he started the business of washing jeans. His father also has a factory in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, but due to the expenses of his son’s cricket coaching, his father put that factory on lease. Due to this, his financial condition worsened and Shivam Dube was forced to stop playing cricket temporarily.

Shivam Dube’s family members helped him play cricket again

After 4 years, his uncle Ramesh Dube and cousin Rajiv Dube helped him to play cricket and he started playing cricket again. In the year 2015-16, he made his T20 debut in the “Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy” against Baroda in Mumbai. Then in a “Ranji Trophy match” of the year 2018-19, he played for Mumbai against Baroda and hit 5 sixes in an over.

Shivam Dube made his IPL debut in 2019

Due to his tireless efforts and hard work, he also performed well in the Mumbai team that won the “Vijay Hazare Trophy” in 2018-19. In the year 2018, Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him for Rs 5 crore in the 2019 IPL auction. All the sacrifices made by him and his family members had finally come to fruition.

2019 continued being a fantastic year for Shivam Dube as the all-rounder was selected for Bangladesh’s T20 series in October 2019. He made his ODI debut against West Indies in 2019.

Shivam Dube’s form took a bit of a dive in 2020, reaching its lowest point in the fifth T20I against New Zealand. Shivam Dube earned the dubious distinction of bowling the second most expensive over in T20I history by being smashed for 34 runs. His career seemed to be in the doldrums when the Chennai Super Kings picked him up for 4 crore rupees and included him in their team. His base price was Rs 50 lakh. 

Under the mentorship of MS Dhoni, Shivam Dube was able to put his career back on track and perform very well for both CSK and the Indian National team. He recently earned the distinction of being the fourth Indian to score a half century and get a wicket in a T20I match. He achieved the feat against Afghanistan by scoring 60 runs in 40 balls and taking a wicket.
