Sheriff Seeks Owner Of Burnt Snowmobile Found On Central Minnesota Lake – WCCO

FOLEY, Minn. (WCCO) — Authorities in central Minnesota are investigating the circumstances behind a charred snowmobile discovered on a frozen lake.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office says a name got here in on Jan. 15 a few burnt snowmobile on Little Rock Lake, simply southeast of Rice. Deputies discovered the car chassis some 50 ft from shore on the lake’s east aspect.

Only the snowmobile’s body and a few steel elements weren’t burned, all of which have been caught to lake ice. No identifiable markers, like a serial quantity, remained. Investigators imagine a flamable fluid leaked from the machine, which then was ignited.

Deputies left the stays of the snowmobile on the lake to take away at a later date. However, somebody reported 5 days later that the stays had been noticed alongside Sucker Creek Road Northwest.
