Wow, this AVN looks good.

Hi, I'm Tom, and this is Adult Game Reviews. Have you ever had the hugest crush on someone? You can't get them out of your head. You finally work up the courage to ask them out, and to your surprise, they say yes. You can't believe your luck. You feel like the luckiest person in the world. The day comes to go out with them. You're so nervous, and when you finally go to pick them up, you realize something you never saw before. They are an absolute mess. You have no idea how you didn't see it before, and now you start seeing all the signs. Welcome to Become a Rockstar.

Overview

Become a Rockstar is a fully completed AVN. You play a rich guy from a very successful family. Your father, the patriarch of the family, really wants you to go into the family business like all of your siblings. You don't want to follow their footsteps and instead want to follow your own path by trying to make it big in the music industry. After the dubious support of your father, you set off trying to set up your own band and make it big.

Patreon and Community

Really quick, I set up a Patreon. There are extra perks like more in-depth reviews of the games I review every week, all the way up to a Patreon-exclusive girlfriend review. The first girlfriend review was posted in April, and the next one is in the works, so check out the tiers to see if there's something that looks interesting to you. Also, every tier gets access to the Discord, which I just set up this past weekend, so head over to patreon.com/adultcavereviews and join our growing community. Thanks for considering it.

The Good

First off, this is one of the best-looking AVNs I have ever played. It is right up there with Fresh Women, and in some situations, it might be better. I can always tell after I play an AVN how much I enjoy the visuals. I have so many screenshots of the faces. There are some games where I have difficulty finding any images to make the thumbnail. This one, I had so many, it was hard to pick just one.

Next, the whole idea of Become a Rockstar is so good. An AVN where you have to start a band and try to make it big is one of the most unique AVN ideas I have ever seen. This is the perfect setup for an AVN, and in general, being rich, good-looking, and in a band, of course, you're gonna have so many women falling all over you. Many of those love interests are pretty interesting. I felt like all I wanted to do was get to know the girls as people. Even the main character is likable. You can play him as a generally good guy, unless you cheat all the time, but you're rich and in a band. It makes sense that you would have opportunities to cheat anyway.

I decided to play Become a Rockstar by picking one girl and sticking with her. I picked Selena with my first playthrough and Lisa with my second. You get the option to cheat, but I rarely took those opportunities through my first playthrough. In that way, Become a Rockstar is very replayable. There are a number of girls to pursue, so I can see how some people will replay this game a few times to see all the girls' endings. You do feel rewarded for sticking with whichever girl you choose. Plus, I actually really liked the endings that I saw. They were really sweet.

The Lewd Content

The renders are fantastic. Many of the scenes have animations. They're pretty goofy at the beginning, but they did get better over time. For a game that looks this good to have some animations is fantastic. Also, there's a lot of adult content, so enjoy.

The Choices

I didn't know if I should put this into the good or the weird section, but each choice you make will give you points with whatever girl you're interacting with. This helps build the relationships. The choices also will give you good and bad points for the main character. This made making choices pretty easy for me because I always chose the same girl in each playthrough.

The Bad

But first, please like the video if you liked it and subscribe if you haven't. I finally hit 1,000 subs right before my last review, so I'm very thankful to all of you.

The thing that I had the hardest time with was the writing in Become a Rockstar. The writing was very formal and polite. It felt like a whole game full of small talk. Hey, small talk, small talk, small talk. Are you blowing it? Yes, it made the game hard to follow at times and, in my view, actually prevented you from getting to know the characters at any deeper level.

Second, you're in a game about a rock band. You would think that the music would be good. There may be a handful of songs that were used on repeat even when the band was supposed to be playing. As an example, your band finally plays a gig, and the music the band plays when they are on stage is the same song that is played in the background at least 10 times. When you have an AVN about music, the music really matters.

Also, I didn't realize there were some basic sound effects until I turned off the music. The default volume was too high for me to even notice that there were sound effects. So if you play it, turn down the music a little bit so you can actually hear that.

Lastly, while I liked a lot of the characters, I felt like Become a Rockstar just skimmed the surface of who they are. There really is no character growth outside of some very basic situations, and some characters weren't very deep at all. They were just kind of there.

The Weird

There aren't that many, so I'll keep this short. There were many situations or events that occur in the game that went nowhere. They felt like filler or added drama. I don't mind added drama sometimes if there's a point, but many of the events that occur outside of the main rock band plot were pointless. I'm not gonna spoil any of those events if you wanna play the game, but it's something I noticed.

Conclusion

I like reviewing good games. They're more fun to play and, I think, more fun to watch a review of, especially if it's a game that you enjoy. AVNs can be very emotional and hit people differently. So I take no joy in saying that I really had a hard time with Become a Rockstar. There's so much good here, but it was ruined for me by the terrible dialogue, poorly written story, and repetitive music. This was such a good idea, and I feel like the whole idea was wasted.

Again, if you played the game, let me know what your thoughts are down below. Was the dialogue as much of an issue for you as it was for me? Also, if you haven't seen my review of Red String, you can check it out right here. Thanks again. Until next time.
