In reply, Mumbai scored the target very easily, losing 5 wickets in 18.4 overs on the basis of the captaincy innings of the hitman (51 balls, 5 fours, 4 sixes, 68 runs). Earlier Mumbai had won the titles in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019. Let us know you, that Mumbai Indians are the team to win the most titles

Rohit and de Kock gave Mumbai a stormy start

Chasing a target of 157 runs, Mumbai Indians started in a stormy manner. R.R. Ashwin came for the first over. Rohit Sharma hit six in his Ashwin, while Kagiso Rabada got two fours and a six in the second over Kagiso Rabada. Rohit then targeted Nortje and rooted fours and sixes. Mumbai’s score was 45 runs in just 4 overs.

De Kock out, but the pace of runs did not stop

However, Quinton de Kock succumbed to Stoinis on the very first ball of the 5th over. Pant caught his catch behind the wicket. De Kock scored 20 runs in 12 balls with the help of 3 fours and 1 six. It is a different matter that in the next two balls of the same over, Suryakumar Yadav hit a four-and-six and brought Mumbai’s score to 50 runs. Mumbai were 61 for 1 after six overs.

Suryakumar sacrificed the wicket to save the captain

Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar were leading the innings. Rohit reached the other end in the 11th over with a fast single. However, Suryakumar, who did not appear from the beginning, left his crease to save the captain. He returned after scoring 19 runs in 20 balls. When this wicket fell, Rohit realized his mistake. He looked very disappointed.

Rohit’s half-century in 36 balls, it happened for the second time in IPL

In the 12th over, Rohit hit Rabada with two fours and completed the third half century of this season in 36 balls. This is the second time that captains of both the teams have completed half a century in any IPL final. Earlier in 2016, David Warner and Virat Kohli had a Fifty studded look. The final was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

After Suryakumar was dismissed, Ishan Kishan took the front with the captain to bat and carried it to the close of victory. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma was dismissed by Nortje’s ball in the wake of a big hit. The wickets of Kieron Pollard (9) and Hardik Pandya (3) also fell, but the difference was not much if Mumbai were not in trouble in the victory.

Delhi 156/7 thanks to Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant

With the help of half-centuries from Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant, the Delhi Capitals recovered from an early tremor from Trent Boult to a respectable score of 156 for 7 wickets. Delhi’s score was 22 for three at a time but then Iyer (65 not out off 50 balls, six fours, two sixes) and Pant (56 off 38 balls, four fours, two sixes) scored 96 for the fourth wicket. Handled the situation by adding runs. Bolt took 3 for 30 and Nathan Coulter-Nile took 2 for 29. Delhi scored only 20 runs in the last three overs.

The top batsmen of Delhi were out

The pitch was bouncing and the Delhi batsmen were unable to adjust to it initially. They had lost the wickets of Marcus Stoinis, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shikhar Dhawan in the first four overs. Bolt was injured in the previous match but was fully fit and took the new ball and stole the stakes to wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock on the first ball and removed Delhi’s stake. After this, he also got the new batsman Rahane (two) caught behind the wicket while Jayant Yadav (one for 25) in the team in place of Rahul Chahar, bowled Dhawan (15) to justify his selection.

Iyer and Pant took over

Iyer and Pant took the lead in shaping the innings. Meanwhile, when Iyer was on 14, Ishan Kishan left his difficult catch on the cover. Pant, who struggled to score runs in the entire IPL, preferred to play early and focus on rotating strikes. In the tenth over, when Krunal Pandya came for bowling, Pant welcomed him by hitting two sixes. Due to this Rohit Sharma had to deliver the ball to Bumrah.

Pant-iyer’s fifty

Rohit made frequent changes in bowling but it was difficult to disturb the concentration of these two. Iyer hit Pollard for the first six of his innings. Pant completed his first half-century of the season by hitting a fine leg over the Coulter-Nile. In the same over, however, he gave his wicket in reward by giving an easy catch. But Iyer persisted. He completed the half-century off 40 balls, but Bolt did not allow Shimron Hetmyer (five) to come in the second spell, which also upset Delhi’s death-overs strategy.
