MAC Medium Deep Flashing Ice Extra Dimension Skinfinish Trio ($39.50 for 0.31 oz.) is a new, limited edition trio of deeper highlighter tones designed for “medium-deep” skin tones. All three shades had semi-opaque to mostly opaque pigmentation, which could be built up or sheered out (or used with a lighter hand). The texture was smooth, blendable, and dense/firm without being stiff, so they were easy to work with and performed consistently with the formula at-large.

Gold Me Closer

Gold Me Closer is a bright, medium yellowy gold with moderate, warm undertones and a bright, metallic finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage in one layer, which could be built up to full coverage if desired or buffed out for sheerer coverage if preferred. It had flashes of lavender and paler gold pearl throughout, though I didn’t get much of a shift or anything.

It had an intense, metallic sheen that stopped just shy of emphasizing my skin’s natural texture. The powder had a smooth, blendable consistency that was dense and firm but not stiff to work with. It lasted well for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.

The Extra Dimension Skinfinish formula is supposed to give “the perfect glow to the skin” with a “creamy powder formula” that wears for “10 hours.” It’s a powder highlighter that I’d describe as a moderate to intense highlighter, and they come in varying hues with some that might work as highlighting blushes/bronzers are on some skin tones and true highlighters on other skin tones. In general, the formula is very pigmented, blendable, and wears around eight to nine hours on me.

Desire Fire

Desire Fire is a light-medium, golden copper with strong, warm undertones and a smooth, luminous sheen. The texture was soft, smooth, and blendable without being too firmly-pressed into the pan, but it had that denser, firmer feel of a gel-powder formula.

It had opaque color payoff in a single layer, which could be dialed down if desired as there was no powderiness/excess product kicked up, so all one had to do was use a lighter hand. It wore nicely for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Call Me Sugar

Call Me Sugar is a medium, rosy plum with subtle, cooler undertones for the base and warmer, flecks of icy pink and warmer gold pearl and faint sparkle throughout. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, though the firmer, denser nature of the formula made it easy to pick up less product as it wasn’t powdery at all.

The powder applied evenly to bare skin and blended out with ease. There were signs of fading present after eight and a half hours of wear.
