On the third day of the first Test match being played between India and Australia in Adelaide, Team India’s batting was shattered like cards in front of Australia’s bowlers. India scored just 36 runs losing 9 wickets in their second innings, Shami could not bat due to injury. This is India’s worst ever performance in Test cricket. Earlier in the year 1974, India were all out for 42 runs against England.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mayank Agarwal were on the Indian side to start the third day, but Pat Cummins gave Australia the first success of the day by sending Bumrah (2) very soon. After this, Cummins did not give any chance to set Cheteshwar Pujara (0) and Ajinkya Rahane (0) as well. At the same time, Josh Hazlewood drove Mayank Agarwal (9) from the other end, while Pat Cummins also drove the Indian team captain Virat Kohli (4) cheaply. Wriddhiman Saha (4) and Hanuma Vihari (8) too could not do much with the bat and India lost wickets at frequent intervals. This is India’s lowest score in the history of Test cricket, before India’s team was all out for 42 against England in 1974.
