Edgar Ramirez to play Atlas in Borderlands movie

Venezuelan actor Edgar Ramirez has been tapped to star reverse Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis and Jack Black within the upcoming film adaptation of widespread online game Borderlands.

In response to Selection, Ramirez will play the position of enterprise titan and arms producer Atlas, probably the most highly effective individual within the sport’s universe.

Filmmaker Eli Roth is directing the film from a script by Emmy-winning Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin.

“What an incredible honour to have an actor of Edgar’s caliber, talent, and charisma playing opposite Cate Blanchett and this remarkable cast. Atlas has to be a truly magnetic personality, someone with charisma and charm but that air of menace underneath it all,” Roth stated.

“I’ve been a fan of Edgar’s since his early performances and he continues to amaze me with each dramatic turn. We want to create something wild, fun, and very different from anything they’ve seen from Edgar before. I am so, so excited to work with him,” he added.

Blanchett stars as Lilith, a girl with nice superpowers; Hart performs the legendary thief Roland; Curtis is solid as archeologist and scientist Dr Tannis, and Black essays the position of Claptrap, an enthusiastic robotic.

Little one actor Ariana Greenblatt, greatest identified for taking part in a younger Gamora within the Marvel blockbuster Avengers: Infinity Battle, will play Tiny Tina, an unstable 13-year-old explosive knowledgeable.

Arad Productions’ Avi Arad and Ari Arad are producing the mission together with Erik Feig of Picturestart. Government producers are Randy Pitchford and Strauss Zelnick.
