JAIPUR: Frantic rescue operations to fish out a 20-year-old girl who had reportedly fallen into an abandoned borewell in Dausa’s Lalsot area ended with a twist that surprised everyone.The girl was recovered by a team of Dausa police from Sitapura area in Jaipur with her male companion.High-voltage drama had begun at 10.30 am when locals informed police about the girl’s alleged drowning. Police spotted her clothes, undergarments and a note referring that she is not going to return.Prima facie police suspected that the girl did not fall accidently in the borewell and she might have weaved a story to elope with her partner. A few other clues indicated that the case had something unexpected to be unfolded.“As we spotted her clothes and spoke to villagers, it became clear that she had cooked a story before eloping. Our men in plainclothes and policemen from nearby stations got some inputs on roaming around of the girl from Lalsot with a boy. That’s when we started looking at the case differently,” said Manraj Meena, deputy superintendent of police, Lalsoth.After getting specific inputs, a team of Dausa police recovered the girl along with her male companion.“Our team is bringing them to Lalsot and we would be able to say much on the case after talking to them,” he added.Police were in a tizzy since morning when they roped in a rescue team with equipment to dig out parellel pit to the 200-feet deep borewell. The information of falling down of the girl reached on Friday morningSources in Dausa district administration informed TOI that on Friday morning they had received information that a girl had fallen into an unused borewell in Anooppura village under Lalsot tehsil.“When the girl’s relatives arrived at the farm at 11am, they found her clothes near the borewell. The girl was also missing. An earthmoving machine was pressed into service to dig up a parallel pit and rescue her,” said an official.“Locals claimed that they have found the note but its authenticity was under doubt, it further confirmed our suspicion,” an official claimed.The rescue teams had dug up till 50-feet down when she was found in Jaipur.
