Snow Much Fun

ColourPop Snow Much Fun 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.36 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette from the recent Hello Kitty collaboration. It includes three matte, three sparkle-matte, and three shimmer shades. The quality was consistent with most of the brand’s releases this year; some powderiness and tendency for fallout, while the shimmers were so-so and often best applied with a fingertip. For those who don’t mind fallout (particularly with the sparkle-matte shades), it would enjoy the palette more than the rating might suggest.

Fuzzy Mittens

Fuzzy Mittens is a light, pinky-peach base with strong, warm gold shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. It had rich color coverage that adhered well to bare skin, while the texture was soft, a smidgen powdery but blendable. It lasted nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview

$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Cuddle Weather

Cuddle Weather is a light lavender with cooler undertones and a frosted finish. The texture felt chunkier and thicker, which resulted in unevenness when applied to skin with a dry brush. I’d recommend using this with a fingertip or a dampened brush and then pressing/patting it into place, which helped it go on more smoothly and prevented some fallout. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that wore decently for eight hours but there was some additional fallout over time.

Winterful

Winterful is a light pink with strong, warm undertones and a frosted finish that was dominated by gold shimmer. It had semi-opaque color coverage that did not build up well, so I’d recommend using it with a dampened brush or a fingertip for greater opacity. The texture was lightly powdery with light fallout during application as a result. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Ice Skates

Ice Skates is a brighter, medium orange with subtle, more red undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had excellent color coverage that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out nicely along the edges. The texture was soft, lightly powdery but not prone to sheering out too quickly. It lasted well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Snow Globe

Snow Globe is a medium-dark pink with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was fairly powdery, which resulted in some of the more opaque coverage sheering out when applied and some fallout, though it was blendable. It stayed on decently for eight hours before fading noticeably.

On Chill

On Chill is a light brown with warmer, more golden undertones and flecks of copper sparkle over a matte finish. The sparkles did not bind with the base powder, so there was a lot of fallout during application and little precision in keeping the sparkles in place when blending out the product. It had semi-sheer coverage that did not build up well as the formula was very powdery to work with. There were signs of fading present after six hours of wear.

Snowhere

Snowhere is a darker, purpled-berry with subtle, cool undertones and flecks of lighter, more violet-hued sparkle over a matte finish. The sparkles did not bind with the underlying powder, so they tended to contribute mostly to fallout and random dispersion than altering the finish of the shade where it was applied. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation paired with a slightly firmer texture, so it wasn’t as powdery as most of the mattes in the palette. It wore nicely for eight and a half hours and left a stain behind.

Formula Overview

$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing." The way the Pressed Pigments differ is that they're not intended for usage on the immediate eye area.

The majority of the shades are semi-opaque to opaque in coverage, blend out fairly well, and can sometimes be a bit drier/more powdery compared to typical matte shades. They often wear eight to nine hours on me before fading, but many shades in the Pressed Pigment family leave some staining behind.

Igloo Blues

Igloo Blues is a brighter, deeper pink with subtle, warm undertones and flecks of silver and pink sparkle over a matte finish. The texture was soft, moderately powdery, and a little thicker, which all resulted in moderate fallout during application–both from the powderiness but also from all the sparkles that didn’t bind with the underlying product.

It had opaque pigmentation that sheered out to more semi-opaque coverage without a tacky primer underneath. It lasted decently for eight hours but had some additional fallout over time.
