Income tax division has processed greater than 4.5 crore returns filed for 2020-21
New Delhi: Income tax division on Wednesday mentioned that greater than 4.50 crore revenue tax returns (ITRs) have been processed thus far out of the entire 6.26 crore ITRs filed for the monetary 12 months 2020-21.In addition to this, greater than 5.41 crore ITRs filed have been verified and 1.58 crore refunds amounting to Rs 31,857 crore for evaluation 12 months (AY) 2021-22 have been issued.In a tweet, the revenue tax division additionally mentioned refunds of over Rs 1.71 lakh crore have been issued to over 1.97 crore taxpayers thus far this fiscal.This contains private revenue tax refunds of Rs 63,234 crore and company tax refunds of Rs 1.08 lakh crore.In an announcement, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) mentioned over 29.8 lakh main tax audit studies (TARs) have been filed on the e-filing portal of the revenue tax division as on February 15, 2023. Over 4.14 lakh main TARs types have been filed on Tuesday itself.On the final date i.e. the prolonged due date of February 15, 2023, 14 per cent of those statutory types and within the final 5 days from February 11 to fifteen, 30 per cent of those statutory types had been filed.
